普段、ウォルトの意思、残したかったものを意識しながらパークを歩く機会はどのくらいあるでしょうか？
今回は、World of Color "Celebrate!" の台詞部分を、ウォルトの言葉に注目して訳してみました。

今夜は、とっても特別な男にささげます。そう、ウォルト・ディズニーへ。この男は、世代を越えて世界中の何万の人に笑顔と笑いを届けようとしていた。わかったかな？ウォルトにはあるひとつの夢があったんだ。実際には、たくさんの夢が。彼は生涯のうちに、その夢が叶うのを見届けたんだ。
One of those very first dreams were special idea with his heart. That was the creation of Mickey Mouse.
最初の夢は特別だった。ミッキーマウスを作ることだ。
MICKEY: Oh, ops.

GOOFY: Hey, Mickey!

ウォルトが全部説明するよ。
WALT: I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing. That it was all started by a mouse. That's why I want this part of the show to belong to Mickey. Because the story of Mickey is true story. The real beginning of Disneyland.
このことだけ忘れないでほしい。すべては一匹のネズミから始まったってことだ。だからこのパートはミッキーについてなんだ。ミッキーの話はどれも本当の話だから。彼がディズニーランドの始まりだ。
MICKEY: Wow! Would you Look at that! It's me in Steamboat Willie go back in 1928.
わあ！見て！1928年蒸気船ウィリーの僕だ！

See, Mickey? Walt Dream of something specially including you. Walt wasn't satisfied just making popular cartoons. He had something else in mind. It was an impractical dream, something at the end of rainbow. First full length animated film.
ほらねミッキー。ウォルトの夢は、君がいたから特別になったんだよ。でも彼は、ただ人気キャラクターを作ることでは満足出来なかった。彼の頭の中にはまだ何かあったんだ。実現困難で、手が届きそうにない夢、それは、長編アニメーション映画を作ることだ。

ねえ、ウォルト。これまでをもう一度やり直すチャンスがあったら、何か違う風にやってみるかい？
WALT: If I had to do all over again? I think ah.. No, I don't think I would.
もう一度やれるとしたら？うーん、どうかな、いや、同じようにやると思うよ。
いかがでしたか。ウォルトの生の声がたくさん流れるこのショーは、ディズニーランドの原点、ここカリフォルニアだからこそ味わい深いです。
やりなおすことが出来たとしても、同じようにやる、というウォルトの答えはつまり、何も改善することがないくらい、彼は全力で彼の夢を叶え、人々に夢を与えることが出来たということです。
ファンとしては、これ以上にないうれしい言葉ですね。
ウォルトの夢を感じながらパークを歩けば、また違った発見が出来るかもしれません。
